REIS MSA Asphalt Rally Championship

Round 6: Tyneside Stages Rally, August 1

Simon Mauger took the REIS MSA Asphalt Rally Championship lead with victory on round six, the Tyneside Stages Rally. John Stone led early on but was delayed by a combination of spins and stray cattle. Mauger thus inherited the lead and resisted Stone’s subsequent fightback to secure his maiden win of the year.Victory, coupled with the absence of erstwhile championship leader Damian Cole, promotes Mauger to the top of the points table with three rounds to go.
