Rally of Scotland opens up VIP hospitality to fans

RACMSA Rally of Scotland organisers have opened up VIP hospitality places to the public for 2010’s event (15-17 October).

General admission tickets to the three-day event went on sale last month – significantly they have been reduced in price compared to 2009 yet offer much improved access and flexibility with full-day passes costing just £20.00 (as opposed to just a single stage last year).

Now organiser International Motor Sports (IMS) is also offering fans a chance to upgrade to a spot of VIP treatment and enjoy their Rally of Scotland in style at three stunning locations. As well as some lavish VIP hospitality, tickets of course include access to all stages that day, plus a complementary spectator programme.

The first (pictured above) is at Scone Palace – once the crowning place of Scotland’s kings and queens – which marks the Ceremonial Start to the event as well as setting the scene for the first two stages on the Friday evening. For £139.00 (excluding VAT) fans can enjoy rare and exclusive access to the Palace for a welcome drinks reception and sumptuous supper before watching all the opening Rally of Scotland action in front of the Palace.

On the Saturday, £135.00 (excluding VAT) buys breakfast and a gourmet buffet lunch at the beautiful Hilton Dunkeld House Hotel – set in its own secluded 280-acre estate in Perthshire countryside and originally built by the 7th Duke of Atholl – including shuttle transfers to and from rally stages.

Sunday’s stages move to ‘Rob Roy Country’, an area steeped in history and legend. Fans can ‘base’ themselves at the Macdonald Forest Hills Hotel & Resort, set in landscaped gardens and woodlands on the shores of Loch Ard. The package includes breakfast, gourmet buffet lunch and transfers to and from rally stages, this time for £125.00 (excluding VAT).

Andrew Coe, Chief Executive of IMS, comments: “This may mark something of a departure for traditional hardcore rally fans who for years have set out into the stages with woollies and packed lunches, but we are encouraging them to ‘upgrade’ their tickets to enjoy one of Scotland’s top sporting events with some superb, traditional Scottish hospitality at some of the country’s most iconic landmarks.”

The 2010 RACMSA Rally of Scotland (15-17 Oct) will be the penultimate round of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge (IRC), featuring some of international rallying’s top teams and drivers including Britons Guy Wilks (Skoda), who won last year’s Rally of Scotland, and Kris Meeke (Peugeot), the reigning IRC Champion, plus home Scottish hero Alister McRae (Proton).
