(SPEEDWAY 1)PETERBOROUGH took a massive step towards confirming their play-off place with an historic away win at Swindon.The Panthers hadn't won in 24 previous visits to the Abbey Stadium but came through 49-47 on Thursday even though they finished with just three fully-fit riders in an incident-packed meeting.The visitors roared into a 22-8 lead after five races and had extended it to 17-points at the halfway stage, with Swindon's fightback coming just too late.Rory Schlein gave his best performance since his mid-season move from Coventry, scoring 12+1, and Polish reserve Norbert Kosciuch also contributed a crucial double-figure score.Panthers boss Trevor Swales said: "It’s been 17 years coming – but we richly deserved the win. It was a terrific performance, particularly considering all our injury problems.“We certainly boosted our chances of making the end of season play-offs and the good thing is we are getting better and better."

"Also, speedway is a family sport and so two adults and two children can come in at a special rate.
