- Silverstone to host seventh round of British Touring Cars on 21-22 August- Stunning displays from ‘Silverstone Air’ during BTCC weekendThe highly competitive and popular Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship will take to the track at Silverstone for the seventh round of the series, on 21-22 August. While fans look forward to watching three closely-fought and eagerly awaited BTCC races on the Sunday, ‘Silverstone Air’ – taking place throughout the BTCC weekend - is also guaranteed to deliver a host of sensational displays from iconic aircraft and aerobatic stunt teams.Fans’ favourites Matt Neal and Jason Plato, the current championship leaders, will be battling for valuable championship points at the Northamptonshire venue as the BTCC reaches a crucial stage in the season, with just three rounds to go following Silverstone. On the Saturday, prior to the BTCC qualifying, Silverstone’s crowd will be treated to Spitfire and P51 Mustang air displays, along with stunts from the Aerostars and Breitling Wingwalkers. Directly after the qualifying session, there will be a breathtaking flypast from XH558 – the only airworthy Vulcan Bomber still in existence. The skies above Silverstone on Sunday (22 August) will then be filled with aerobatics from The Parachute Regiment Freefall Team ‘The Red Devils’, and The Royal Airforce Aerobatic Team’s ‘Red Arrows’. Silverstone’s line-up of spectacular aircraft displays will be brought to a close by the Avro Lancaster, the legendary WWII bomber.Advance tickets for Silverstone’s round of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship, featuring ‘Silverstone Air’, are priced at just £15 for the Saturday (qualifying) and £27 for the Sunday (race day).
