WRC: Rally Japan, Day 1Mikko Hirvonen won on Japan’s forest gravel stages the last time the country hosted a round of the WRC in 2008. The Ford driver is all-but out of championship contention this time round but still poses a major threat for victory again. British Tractor PullingSure, there were more established championships on this week’s schedule, but none odder than British Tractor Pulling which returns to Motors TV screens after far too long away. For those new to the sport, a quick lesson; farm machinery on steroids haul an ever-advancing trailer-bound sled as far as they can down a straight track until the resistance becomes too much and they grind to a halt. The tractor that goes furthest wins. Brilliant.  -     Saturday, 4 September: 5pm British F3 There’s every chance that by the time British F3 reaches Snetterton, French rocket Jean-Eric Vergne will have wrapped up the title.
