Nordea private banking signs with Masters Historic Racing

Masters Historic Racing has formed a new partnership with Nordea International, a leading private banking group.

Nordea Bank S.A. is based in Luxembourg and is a part of the Nordea Group, the leading financial services provider in the Nordic and Baltic Sea regions. Nordea Bank S.A. is the group’s private banking subsidiary and manages investments for an international clientele, which fits well with the general profile of Masters’ collectors and racers of historic cars.

The first partnership racing events for Nordea with Masters will be at two season-ending, double-header events in Iberia, the first of which will take place at the Algarve Autodrome in Portugal on 16/17 October, to be followed five days later by a second event at the Monteblanco circuit near Seville in Andalucía.

These historic racing events will feature Masters’ races for a wide range of classes, from saloon cars of the 1960s to Grand Prix cars of the 1970s and 1980s, with great racing expected to match the usual enjoyable hospitality at the track and the weekend’s social functions.

In welcoming the partnership with such a significant pan-European group, the series director of Masters Historic Racing, Christopher Tate, said: “We are delighted to welcome Nordea Bank to our roster of significant partners, joining the likes of Dunlop, from the supply side, and TAG Heuer collectors’ watches from the luxury retail side of our operational model. The sport of historic racing is enjoyable to both watch and participate in – and, as this new link with Nordea shows, it also attracts leading European companies as marketing and promotional partners.”

Leading this new business connection for Nordea is Luxembourg-based Private Banking Director, Lars Alstrup, who said: “Nordea is a strong bank that has won awards for its excellence in private banking services in Europe. However, a strong Nordea depends on strong relationships with clients. Joining forces with Masters Historic Racing provides us with a great opportunity to strengthen existing relationships and build new ones. We look forward to the two race weekends in October, where we will meet many Masters’ members for the first time.”
