Bridgman ready for Supercup challenge at Spa and Monza

Tim Bridgman says that going to Spa and Monza for the final two Porsche Mobil1 Supercup races of the season will allow him to finish the season with some strong results on circuits that he already knows.Bridgman and Team Parker Racing have worked wonders this season on a very tight budget to compete in the Supercup, but a complete lack of testing has given them a mountain to climb at each race weekend. Their only test day of the season was when they shook the car down at Hockenheim ahead of the opening races in Bahrain in March. Now, the season wraps up at two tracks that Tim knows from his single-seater career and the reigning Porsche Carrera Cup GB champion is aiming to put that prior knowledge to good effect. The season concludes with races at Spa (29 August) and Monza (12 September). "I know both tracks from Formula 3," said Bridgman."We've done a good job with the budget we’ve got," said Bridgman of his season to date, when he has consistently run at top 10 pace. "But it is very difficult to learn the track in 40 minutes of free practice. You really only get about 10 laps to learn the track and set the car up."With no testing budget, Bridgman has been competing with drivers who are testing regularly, but he says he is pleased with what they have achieved. "We’ve done a good job through the race weekends and I'm happy with the progress we’re making. I just want it to come faster."Already, both Bridgman and team boss Stuart Parker are planning towards 2011. "We're working hard to get everything in place for next season. We want to capitalise on what we’ve learnt this season," said Bridgman. "To get onto the podium and win races we need that testing and we're looking for a title sponsor to help make that happen."
