ORBIT Paul Miller Racing Road America preview

Bryce Miller returns this week to the site of his first American Le Mans Series class win – the sweeping Road America road course in Elkhart Lake, Wis. Miller, of Summit, N.J., and Luke Hines of Essex, England, will again team with ORBIT / Paul Miller Racing for a two-hour 45-minute race on Sunday, Aug. 22. Their No. 48 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car will carry the colors of their sponsors Marquis Jet, Grand Prix Racewear, IPC Systems and TOTAL Lubricants.

Miller earned his first ALMS GT2 win on the 4.048-mile Road America road course, in 2008. No surprise he enjoys the big, high-speed track.

"I always get excited to go to Road America," he said. "As one of the best tracks in North America, it has to be one of my favorite circuits, but also because this is where I had my first victory in my second-ever ALMS GT2 race. The track is really fast, so of course, this is always fun."

Road America is new to Hines, but it's similar to circuits he has raced in Europe. He has also been tuning up with the help of computer games.

"I've been quick," he said. "I broke the Road America lap record on the computer game, so I'm hoping I can translate from computer game to actually doing it in real life! On the game, it's a very quick, long track. It looks like you've got to go into the corners 100 per cent committed. I'm getting itchy feet – I'm ready to get out there and drive this track. I'm excited! I feel that we're so close for a good result and I'm hoping we can do it now."
