RUSSIAN teenager Artem Laguta will be a full-time Grand Prix rider in 2011 after taking a superb victory in Saturday's GP Challenge at Vojens.Laguta won four of his five rides to score 12 points, and he then beat Sweden's Antonio Lindback in a run-off to win the meeting, although Lind back was also celebrating as the result also means he returns to the GP series. The third qualifying place was taken by current GP rider Freddie Lindgren, and if he finishes in the top eight of this year's competition that will hand Poland's Janusz Kolodziej a spot. British duo Chris Harris and Simon Stead both missed out, although Harris still has a chance of top-eight qualification this season as he is only four points off that position with four rounds to go.Laguta said: "I still don't believe it - it feels like I'm dreaming. I'm going to work 100 percent in the winter for my season in the GP and I'm going to fight to stay in the top eight. I'll be happy if I stay in the top eight."Now I must end this season well and we'll think about next year in the winter. But racing against the top riders will be very hard - they don't make mistakes."

WOLVERHAMPTON expect to be back to full-strength for Monday's top-of-the-table clash with Poole. Both Adam Skornicki and Nicolai Klindt were missing due to injury at Lakeside on Friday but they are scheduled to return for the clash with the Pirates. And Wolves boss Peter Adams has stressed that Poole's current 20-point advantage in the table will count for little in the play-offs other than giving them the right to pick their semi-final opponents.Adams said: "They can be beaten over two legs. The Poole management are only too aware that, whilst they've had a terrific league season, the biggest test of all is still to come next month in the play-offs."This meeting will be entertaining, I'm sure. It will be good to have Adam coming back from injury and Nicolai should be fit after his big crash last week

."What we need is for Adam and Nicolai to reach peak fitness when we go into the play-offs. Our team have already achieved a lot when you consider we area team of improving youngsters, now we need to time things for the play-offs."

BERWICK duo Adrian Rymel and Marcin Rempala both scored paid maximums as the Bandits stunned title-chasing Newcastle at Shielfield Park. The Diamonds crashed to a 61-32 defeat on a night where a win would have seen them make ground as rivals Edinburgh lost at Workington. But the Bandits dominated and are becoming an increasing force around their home circuit - although they did suffer a blow with Michal Rajkowski's crash in Heat 8, from which he suffered a suspected broken leg. Berwick boss Ian Rae said: "Everything is just clicking perfectly for usright now and I defy any team to come here and think they can take a win over us now.

"It's awful that Michal Rajkowski has a possible leg break, and it looks like we'll be looking for a guest or two over the next weeks, but our spirit has risen so well now that we should still be a force to be reckoned with for any side, especially at Shielfield Park."

SCUNTHORPE completed a positive weekend with an impressive draw at Rye House to move into the Premier League's top six.Tero Aarnio kept up his fine run of form as he top-scored again for the Scorpions, and he and Magnus Karlsson ensured the 45-45 outcome by splitting Linus Sundstrom and Chris Neath in the last race. Scorpions boss Richard Hollingsworth said:

"That was the meeting of the season for me. This place isn't easy to come to but all seven riders rode superbly. We had contributions from everyone and to get a draw at a place like this is exceptional. "It's a shame Carl (Wilkinson) was just pipped in Heat 14 because he was so close to winning it. It was great to see Viktor (Bergstrom) produce two outstanding rides. We got two 5-1s and he figured in both. It will do wonders for his confidence and it looks like he will be at reserve fromSeptember 1."
