Karl Leonard rejoins Porsche Carrera Cup GB for Knockhill

Karl Leonard will rejoin the Porsche Carrera Cup GB for rounds 15 and 16 at Knockhill next weekend (4/5 September). The rapid Irish racer will take over the pro-am1 car normally raced by his elder brother Michael for Team Parker Racing and will be competing for the first time since the end of the 2009 season."I haven't raced for 10 months, so it will be interesting," said the 33-year old hotelier from Naas, Co Kildare. "Michael can't do Knockhill due to work commitments, but he'll be back in the car for Donington. "It will be the first time I've been in a pro-am1 car that is capable of running at the front. I'm looking forward to being in the pro-am 1 car with the extra power against the pro-am2 car I raced last year."Karl has only taken part in a few track days so far this year and is keen to get back to racing. "I raced at Knockhill three years ago in Irish Supercars and had a win and a second place, so I have some experience of the track. "I'm not sure what I would like to achieve but I do know the times will be close. So if I can hook up qualifying, then a good result is possible. It's all about qualifying around Knockhill," said Karl, who is keen to race more regularly in the Carrera Cup GB is 2011.
