Hamilton wins incident packed Spa to take Championship lead

Vettel, Button and Alonso fail to score points

Hamilton passed Webber to lead from the first corner to the flag, while Webber, whose anit-stall kicked in dropped to sixth. 

As the field reached the Bus Stop chicane half  of then slid off into the-off area, with Rubens Barrichello slamming into the back of Alonso  - and into retirement in his 300th race.

At the end of lap 16 a further shower caused Vettel to lose control on the damp track and crash into the side of Button, who was then out of the race.  Stewards  deemed the accident to have been avoidable and Vettel was handed a drive through penalty.

"All I felt was a really big bang in the sidepod and I lost drive immediately, I don't know what he was playing at really."said Button.

Alonso became another casualty on lap 39 when he spun out at the exit to Les Combes.
