The Sauber Formula One team has signed a sponsorship agreement with Mad Croc, which will see the energy food and drinks manufacturer appear on the rear wing end-plates and front nose of the team’s cars for the remainder of the season.
The company, which was founded in 2004 in Finland but is now based in the UK, is already an established name in rallying and the GT1 sportscar championship. News of the deal is a welcome boost for the team, which has struggled to attract significant sponsorship since original founder Peter Sauber returned to the helm this year following the withdrawal of previous owners BMW. “It is clear the products of Mad Croc fit perfectly with Formula One,” Sauber said at Spa, where the logos appeared on the car for the first time at the Belgian Grand Prix.
“Having already been involved in a variety of other world championship motorsport activities, our brand is proud to have now reached the pinnacle of motorsports with Formula One,” added Ari Koivula, chief executive of Mad Croc’s parent company Energy Brands Ltd. “The Mad Croc formula is also considered to be in this position in its market as it is the fastest expanding energy drink andproduct brand. The latest new territory for the brand is India, while it will enter more than 20 new countries in the very near future.”
