MSA Gravel Rally Championship

Round 5: Sixty & Worcestershire National Rally Former MSA British Rally Champion Jonny Milner and his co-driver Ian Windress earned the 2010 MSA Gravel Rally Championship title with a maximum points haul on the Sixty & Worcestershire National Rally.

Milner was only sixth fastest through the opening stage of the Ludlow-based event, with championship rivals Roger Duckworth and Nick Broomfield some five seconds faster in their Subaru. However, the title was all but decided on the seventh test when Duckworth was sidelined by a broken gearbox, leaving Milner with a 12-second cushion over Charlie Payne and Craig Thorley in their Ford.

Milner’s their task was made easier when Payne suffered clutch failure on the start line of the penultimate stage. While the latter was able to complete the route, the time loss ensured that Milner would end the day 15 seconds ahead and with the 25 points that he needed to seal the championship title.Round 6: Trackrod National Rally, September 25Championship positions (provisional) after Round 51 Jonny Milner – 93 points (CHAMPION) 2 Stephen Petch – 763 Charlie Payne – 684 Alex Allingham – 535 Roger Duckworth – 446 Jamie Anderson – 40
