THE 2010 Line-X Pickup Truck Racing Championship heads to Rockingham this weekend (September 11/12) for the penultimate meeting of the season with the title race still wide open.
Steve Dance currently tops the leader board but with four rounds remaining, 800 points up for grabs and no fewer than nine drivers still in contention, the tension will be electrifying as so many drivers go hunting for silverware.
This will be the last visit of the American-style racers to the Northamptonshire venue for 2010, and as always they guarantee to deliver maximum excitement with speeds of up to 150mph around Europe’s fastest racing circuit – the Rockingham Oval.
The pickup trucks are always popular with the Rockingham crowd, and will be supporting a packed British Automobile Race Club (BARC) meeting which includes races from the Formula Renault, Kumho BMW and Formula Ford championship.
There will also be racing from the BARC Westfield Sports Car series, the Dunlop and Classic Clubman’s Cup, Formula Ford 2000 championship and the CSL Cup, to round-off two-days of non-stop action.
The entertainment won’t be confined to the track and on race day there will be plenty for all the family to enjoy, including giant skittles and the chance to get in the driving seat of Rockingham’s race simulators. Grandstand seats and access to the paddock area are free.
With children aged 15 and under getting in FREE and adult admission tickets frozen at 2008 prices, families are guaranteed the chance to enjoy a whole day of quality entertainment at a price they can afford.
Fans have until midday next Friday (September 10) to book tickets in advance and save up to 20 per cent on adult admission prices. Tickets cost just £12 and can be booked on-line at rockingham.co.uk or via the ticket hotline on 01536 500500, choose option one.
Tickets will be available on the gate and cost just £15 per adult. Fans who are registered disabled can apply for a FREE ticket for their carer. Written proof is required.
