EDINBURGH have confirmed they will continue to race at their current Armadale venue in 2011.The club describe their decision as "close-run" as despite winning the Premier League title they have endured a tough year and also face a 25% rent increase to use a stadium they had been expected to leave at the end of theseason. Chairman Alex Harkess said: "It would have been a terrible blow to lose our weekly speedway, especially as we are the current league champions. We simply could not bring ourselves to do that, and to disappoint so many people."However people must realise that we must work harder than ever to close the gap between income and outgoings. We already do better than most clubs with fundraising."

WORKINGTON have qualified for another Young Shield Final - but their home leg against Rye House has been postponed for a week due to rain. The Comets, who are bidding for a third straight win in the competition, came through their re-arranged semi-final at Scunthorpe by a 22-point aggregate margin. They had been due to face the Rockets at Derwent Park on Saturday, but the first leg will now take place at Hoddesdon on Sunday (4pm).
Comets boss Ian Thomas said: "The track staff were down virtually at first light and were disappointed to find it was in a state because of the rain.It was described as mush. We haven't had many rain-offs this season but they all seem to have come in the Young Shield."It was a brilliant effort by the boys to get the job finished (on Friday). We have reached three successive Young Shield finals, and that's are markable achievement in itself."
