Time is running out for those wishing to take full advantage of discounted ‘Early Bird’ tickets for this summer’s Silverstone Classic (22-24 July), the world’s biggest classic motor racing festival.
This special Early Bird promotion offers significant discounts – but only on those tickets booked before midnight on Thursday 31 March. With £10 off all adult entrance tickets for Friday, Saturday and Sunday or £30 off a three-day pass, these represent sizeable savings of up to 27 per cent when compared to tickets purchased on the gate.
“We’ve already seen record numbers booking Early Bird tickets for this year’s Silverstone Classic and we are expecting a further surge in the few days remaining before the generous offer closes,” reported Event Director, Nick Wigley. “Ticket sales are currently more than 100 per cent up where they were at a similar time last year which underlines the event’s spiralling popularity with an increasingly diverse audience. This summer’s Silverstone Classic will star many thousands of classic road and racing cars, a superb line-up of live music plus air displays, parades, fun fairs and a host of other attractions for those of all ages. With so much to see the Silverstone Classic unquestionably is one of this summer’s best value days out – even more so for those planning ahead and buying Early Bird tickets before the end of March.”
Highlights already confirmed for 2011 include a glittering array of more than 20 races staged for the first time on Silverstone’s newly extended Grand Prix circuit. The bill includes six showdowns for historic Formula 1 cars ranging from the ERA and Alfa Romeo of the Thirties to the DFV-powered McLarens and Williams of the Seventies, two thunderous scraps featuring brutal American V8 muscle cars from the Sixties, plus the return of the superfast 8-litre Group C sportscars from the Eighties.
This year’s Silverstone Classic will also be the premier global event to mark the 50th birthday of the famous Jaguar E-Type. Celebrations feature two very special races on the track plus a record number of E-Types on show in dedicated display areas.
Tickets not only provide unrestricted access to trackside grandstands, all the glittering displays and racing car paddocks, but also free entrance into the festival’s live music. On Friday evening the Silverstone Classic will rock to the celebrated sounds of the Rolling Stones, Bob Marley and Queen as three of the UK’s most acclaimed tribute bands roll back the years. Then, on Saturday evening, the Silverstone stage will host live performances from a trio of rock and pop’s greatest names: Suzi Quatro, 10cc and Wishbone Ash. Sunday’s timeless musical entertainment switches from live stadium rock to the more relaxed sounds of classical music.
With so much on offer the Silverstone Classic is one of the summer’s top ‘must see’ attractions and provides excellent value for money – even more so for those taking full advantage of the ‘Early Bird’ ticket discounts currently on offer. These are available until the end of March either via the ticket hotline on 0871 231 0849 or by visiting the official event website at www.SilverstoneClassic.com
