Dix Mille Tours de Navarra

The opening of the Classic Endurance Racing season will be held next 2 and 3 April during the Dix Mille Tours de Navarra. A brand new circuit for the CER, going for the first time to the Spanish track. For this season opening, the CER will be putting a record number of cars on the starting grid. No less than 52 exceptional models will hurry to the Iberian paddock with their drivers of 11 different nationalitiesDuels at the summit in proto 2

The season looks promising thanks to a grid worthy of the best car museums.

The Spanish round will welcome the three still existing Lola T280s including Jean-Marc Merlin’s Lola T280 HU1 which participated four times in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. One of the four models will have David Ferrer, one of the leading drivers of the 2010 season behind its wheel. In 2011, the Frenchman is taking up a new challenge and will attack the CER’s star category: proto 2. In the race to win, the three Lola T280s will have to count on the presence of Jean-Marc Luco’s Ligier JS3 and also Paul Knapfield’s beautiful Ferrari 312PB, which raced at Le Mans, Sebring, Daytona,... The CER will welcome a newcomer, the TOJ SC 304 and its crew Kevin Wilkin/Mike Catlow which should disrupt the plans of the Chevron B31 Hart of Russel Büsst and the Sauber C5 of Philippe Scemama.

All in the familyIn proto 1, Richard Mille and his Lola T70 Mk, faithfull to the CER, will face the Belleteste crew, father and son, on the same model and will also have to reckon with Olivier Cazallieres' Chevron B16 Mazda. To be noted that at 30, Romain Belleteste, will be the youngest CER competitor.

A special packThe GT category will not be overlooked with models very much appreciated by the public such as Claude Nahum’s Ford GT40, the BMW M1 belonging to Christian Traber or the Porsche 911 RSR for the Orjuela crew.

An appointment with five gridsThe Classic Endurance Racing will make the trip to the Dix Mille Tours de Navarra with five other classic car grids: Sixties' Endurance, Trofeo Nastro Rosso, Canadian American Challenge Cup and the two Coppa Open Circuito de Navarra grids. The occasion for the CER drivers to participate in different races. Many of them will revive the greatest times of Gentlemen Drivers by passing from one category to another.After the winter break, a great many Classic Endurance Racing competitors will be present to open the season at the new Peter Auto meeting, the Dix Mille Tours de Navarra on 2 and 3 April.

An event which announces a fabulous season with a second race held on the Belgian circuit of Spa-Francorchamps on 27, 28 and 29 May during another brand new classic meeting: Spa Classic.
