(PREMIER LEAGUE FOURS – RACEDAY UPDATE)THREE of the competing clubs in Sunday’s Premier League Fours at Leicester (5pm) have confirmed late changes to their line-ups.The hosts will be without Henning Bager who was concussed in a heavy crash at Beaumont Park last week, and he will be replaced by Russian racer Ilya Bondarenko. For Ipswich, Jerran Hart replaces knee injury victim Chris Mills, whilst Workington now include Richard Lawson in place of Peter Kildemand, who is still struggling with his shoulder and made an aborted comeback attempt on Friday.Workington boss Tony Jackson said: “The Fours have probably come a week too soon for Peter, Richard Lawson will replace him and as he did so well there just two weeks ago I am expecting a great result from the Comets.“With Bondarenko, Lawson and Hart in, ironically on current form I see Leicester, Ipswich and Workington in a better position. With only one winner there looks to be a right scrap on the cards!”(SPEEDWAY 1)COVENTRY skipper Edward Kennett scored a full 15-point maximum to lead his side to a vital away victory at play-off rivals Lakeside.Kennett went through the card at Purfleet backed-up by Przemyslaw Pawlicki and Nick Morris who both scored double figures in the Bees’ 48-42 win which moves them to within one point of the top four.Kennett said: “I couldn’t ask for anything more really, my starting was good, the bike was working well on the track and I feel like I’m back to where I was a couple of months ago.“What a great team performance as well, everyone dug deep and young Nick did a great job – he even had to jump on my bike in one race and he did the business, so I’m proud of all the boys tonight.”(SPEEDWAY 2)EASTBOURNE took another big step towards the play-offs with a convincing 57-35 win over Elite League leaders Poole at Arlington.A key moment came in Heat 11 when the Lifestyle Eagles’ pairing of Joonas Kylmakorpi and Cameron Woodward took at 5-1 over Chris Holder, who was taking Poole’s first double-points tactical ride.Eagles boss Trevor Geer said: “All our boys rose to the occasion tonight and I think the Eastbourne team showed they wanted it the most. There was good, hard riding as the amount of re-runs showed.“It was an absolutely fantastic match. I knew it was going to be one of the hardest matches of the year but to come away with three league points was absolutely great.”(SPEEDWAY 3)BERWICK secured one of the best away results in their 43-year history with a 57-36 romp at Plymouth in Saturday’s Premier League match.Sebastian Alden and Ludvig Lindgren ended Ben Barker’s 31-race winning run at the St Boniface Arena in Heat 1 and the Bandits dominated thereafter with Alden dropping just one point.Manger Ian Rae said: “This was one of the very best Bandits’ team performances I’ve ever seen and that’s over more than four decades! “Every member of the side deserves the greatest credit for knuckling down and hammering our mark well and truly on this away meeting. It was a magnificent effort and everyone played a vital role.”(SPEEDWAY 4)STOKE’S Tim Webster and the Isle of Wight’s Rob Smith were both released from hospital after a heavy crash at Loomer Road on Saturday.Webster and Smith were withdrawn from the National League clash which the Potters eventually won 61-34, but have escaped with no broken bones.Stoke boss Malcolm Vasey said: “After the delay I thought the lads continued in the same ruthless way that we had started the meeting and have ridden here for most of the season. “When I see a rider who has struggled a little bit this season in Gareth (Isherwood) go out and beat their number one who was on a tactical ride it shows how much he and this team battle and dig deep for each other.”(FIXTURES)
