Round 1: Golden Springs Car Trial, 4 March

Reigning MSA British Car Trial Champion Barrie Parker got hit title defence off to a perfect start with victory in the season-opening Golden Springs Car Trial.

Heavy rain throughout the morning left the ground muddy and slippery, leaving competitors to tackle the hills at maximum revs with full wheel-spin from all 32 start lines.

Parker – aboard his MR2 Roadster – was chased hard all day by returning former champion Nick Pollitt, who ultimately claimed the runner-up spot in his Saxo VTR.
