This year's Isle of Man TT race week was another tour de force for the UK distributor of Carless Racing Fuels, Vital Equipment and its Isle of Man dealer, Performance and Competition Engineering (P.A.C.E.). Carless-fuelled teams claimed the win in five of seven races in total and all but one of the races in which teams competed.
John McGuiness, holder of the standing outright lap record on the island claimed on Carless fuel, took the win in the Superbike TT and the Superstock categories, running on Carless Hiperflo Moto 4T. Team-mate Bruce Anstey claimed the win in the first of the two SuperSport races while Dave Molyneux claimed both Sure sidecar race wins, also on Carless Moto 4T.
But it wasn't just on the podium where Carless fuels shone. Sidecar racer Rob Handcock was so concerned by engine temperatures that he didn't go out in practice on his Shelbourne Honda machine. However, after speaking to local Vital Equipment agent Ian Tunney of P.A.C.E., he tried Moto 4T and thanks to engine temperatures which had dropped to a safe level, qualified for the race immediately. He went on to finish an impressive fifth in race 1 and seventh in race 2.
Both the results and Handcock's experience prove the benefits of Carless Racing Fuels; the Hiperflo Moto 4T is designed to produce not only excellent and consistent performance but exactly what Handcock saw - reduced internal engine temperatures, allowing a greater margin of safety.
Commenting, Vital Equipment Managing Director Alistair Roberts said; "I am delighted with the success that we achieved with Carless Racing Fuels at this year's TT. Of course, race wins are great for everyone involved but more impressive, I think, is Ian's work with Rob Handcock.
"I gather that Rob was quite despondent that his engine temperature was high enough to make him decide not to go out in practice. As one of the key attributes of Hiperflo Moto 4T, the temperature-reducing qualities clearly worked perfectly here and he was able to not only qualify for the race but put in two excellent performances.
"I want to thank Ian and the rest of the P.A.C.E. team for their efforts over the two weeks, servicing numerous teams and individual riders and proving an integral part of this year's success."
