Tutumlu will take part in Porsche Supercup series, a championship where he is contesting in 2012 driving for FÖRCH racing by Lukas Motorsport. Tutumlu, who has never raced during his career at Silverstone, will face almost other thirty drivers in one of the most competitive GT championships celebrated on European soil.
Tutumlu claimed his best result in 2012 so far at Valencia Street Circuit finishing 9th after a difficult race avoiding several incidents. His 9th place is a very valuable result because in the Porsche Supercup there are a large number of professional drivers during 2012 campaign.
At Silverstone, his challenge is even harder, because as Tutumlu explains “I never raced before here, and it´s a track that I don´t know. Of course I know Silverstone has a long tradition in motorsport history and it´s the main reason because I´m looking forward to arriving there and to start working. Silverstone changed his layout two years ago and I think it´s getting even more exciting at the moment”. The entry list is getting increased in Great Britain because regular contenders are joined by drivers from Porsche Supercup UK, and almost thirty cars are expected on the starting grid. “Everything is getting worse this meeting! I have ahead both new circuit and new rivals coming as well. But I´m not giving up, despite the fact British drivers have an important knowledge and experience at Silverstone. I will try my best once again. I know what sort of handicaps I need to overcome next weekend. Anyway my goal is to put under my belt as much as experience as possible during Friday´s free practice session, and then to complete a good qualifying session a day later. Qualifying is playing a key role again because it´s important to assure a good place on the starting grid for the race. The forecast announces rain, but I don´t think it´s a problem at all because I am fast on wet conditions”.
The timetable is going to start on Friday with a free practice session at 18.00 (CET), with qualifying scheduled on Saturday at 12.25 (CET). The race, broadcasted live by Eurosport on Sunday, is scheduled at 11.45 (CET).
