SOMERSET star Claus Vissing suffered a broken collarbone in the Rebels 51-39 defeat at Ipswich on Tuesday.Vissing tangled with the Witches Dakota North in Heat 9 and his club will operate rider-replacement for their fixtures this week, with Fridays home match against Newcastle seeing the start of a summer promotion of free admission for accompanied under-16s (max. two per paying adult) at the Oak Tree Arena.Promoter Debbie Hancock said: Losing Claus is an obvious blow, not just for us, but for Claus himself, especially has he has only recently returned to the side after a spell out due to a punctured lung sustained at Sheffield at the end of May.Once we have a better idea of how long he will be sidelined, we can then sit down and assess the various options available to us before making a decision as to the way forward.(SPEEDWAY 3)

RYE House skipper Luke Bowen attended his first meeting since suffering a broken thigh and saw his team-mates defeat in-form Scunthorpe 49-40.Charlie Gjedde and Jordan Frampton ensured all three points for the Rockets with a last-heat 5-1, whilst Bowen admits his injury could keep him out for up to a year.He said: Charlie was awesome tonight with a great No.1 performance, but the rest of the boys dug deep too and scored points when it really mattered.Im starting to feel much more confident again now and aiming to ditch the crutches in a couple of weeks. However, Im not contemplating riding again until the middle of next season, which is when the metal rod will come out of my leg.

DUDLEY returned to the top of the National League table with a 58-33 win over Scunthorpe in an eventful clash at Monmore Green.Heathens skipper Adam Roynon scored another maximum and there was a seasons-best score of 13+1 from Byron Bekker, with Steve Worrall leading the Saints resistance with 14+1.Dudley coach Jan O Pedersen said: It was an absolutely fantastic win, and all the boys did really well even without Tom (Perry). We still had a high score, a couple of the boys were a little rusty because we havent been riding for so long, but all in all it was a fantastic performance.
