Silverstone gears up for nostalgia and racing at Historic Tribute

There was great news for historic racing fans today as Silverstone announced that it will be hosting the inaugural Silverstone Historic Tribute on the first weekend in June (4-6th June, 2004).

The three day event is a welcome addition to the historic calendar, enabling fans to rub shoulders with cars and stars from the glory days of British Motor Racing.

This unique event at the home of the British Grand Prix will be a mixture of nostalgia, classic cars, and hard, competitive racing, as Silverstone pays tribute to all the major clubs that have supported Historic race meetings at the world famous circuit over the years.

Leading names from the world of Historic racing are expected to be at Silverstone for the event, and free access to the open paddock and centre trade village will ensure fans gain unparalleled access to some of the most loved, and best presented, classic racing cars in the country. More than 400 cars, representing six decades from the golden age of racing, will feature in over 20 races during the weekend. Fans will be able to get up close and personal  with some of the most stunning racing cars ever built.  Formula  One  cars  from  the  1920s  to  the  70s,  sixty  years  of  sensational  sports  cars,  and saloon cars from the 50s through to the 70s will all make for an outstanding weekend of racing.
