SHEFFIELD rider Joe Haines says he was on the verge of quitting speedway before moving to Owlerton last year.Haines, who is back at Owlerton for a second successive season, suffered career threatening injuries in Australia in December 2010 - but he bounced back with an impressive campaign in Tigers colours and is looking forward to the 2013 with confidence. He said: I definitely considered my future in the sport after all the injuries I had and stuff like that. I think the year I came back I returned way too early to be honest. Physically Im like brand new again really, and mentally Im getting my confidence back which is really important.
