THE British Racing Sports Car Club (BRSCC) provides the curtain-raiser to Rockinghams 2013 motorsport season when it returns to the Northamptonshire circuit over the weekend of April 6/7, with a great programme of saloon & sportscar races.A firm favourite with the home crowd, the BRSCC race weekend will provide two days of fantastic tin-top, sportscar and single-seater action, to get Rockinghams new racing season under way in style.With the return of the ticket for a tenner promotion for all club race meetings, the BRSCC meeting is a great family day out at an affordable price with adult tickets just 10 in advance and free admission for children aged 16 and under.Spectators are sure to be entertained with a number of new championships for 2013 taking to the track for the first time at Rockingham, including a strong grid of MK1 Mazda MX5s, in the BRSCCs newest race series.For Ford fans, there are two Fiesta race series on the schedule, the Senior Championship with four classes, including the new Zetec S 1.6 for 2013, while in its second year, the Junior competition is a great way to introduce 14 to 16 year olds to circuit racing.The BRSCC Porsche Championship returns to Rockingham with Toyo Tires as their new title sponsor. The growing series has classes for the race spec Boxster, the production Boxster and the old faithful 924.
Another regular visitor is the BRSCC Alfashop Alfa Romeo Championship and there will be plenty of models of the iconic Italian marque in action. A full grid is also expected in the Arrowpak Euro Saloon & Sports Car Championship, which brings an eclectic mix of racing machines.Representing single-seaters is the BRSCC Formula Jedi Championship, an exciting one-make slicks and wings formula which is a proven first affordable step on the single-seater ladder.All the action takes place on the International Super Sportscar Long Circuit, and adding to the entertainment will be the Nippon Challenge and the MR2 Race Series, which always have good entries from the track Attack Race Club.All tickets include a free grandstand seat with a unique panoramic view of the entire circuit and access to the race paddock, allowing an exclusive insight into the hard work which goes on behind the scenes to keep the drivers and cars on track.Rockingham prides itself on providing access to all motorsport fans, and for those who are registered disabled can apply for a FREE admission ticket for their carer. Advance tickets can be booked online at www.rockingham.co.uk or via the hotline on 01536 500500, option1, until midday on Friday, April 5. Adult tickets will also be available on the day priced at 15 on both days, while children aged 16 and under get in free. Gates open at 08:00.
