Estep and Argetsinger Close Out Pirelli Cayman Interseries PCA Peachstate 225 Weekend With Sunday Enduro VictoryCompetitive Weekend Sees Three Different Winners in Three Races; Estep First Woman to Win in Pirelli Cayman InterseriesA competitive two days of Pirelli Cayman Interseries Endurance Cup Championship racing in the Porsche Club of America (PCA) Peachstate 225 Enduro at Road Atlanta produced three different winners in as many races this weekend, capped by a victory in Sundays 90-minute enduro by Kim Estep and Peter Argetsinger.Estepthe first woman to win a Pirelli Cayman Interseries race in the four-year history of the seriesand Argetsinger took the lead when Musante Motorsports teammate Joe Courtney was uninjured but sidelined after an accident in Turn 5. Argetsinger took over from starting driver Estep and drove her No. 117 Cayman S, which carries a white and orange livery with black and silver accents inspired by the Porsche Intelligent Performance theme, to the checkered flag for the duos first Pirelli Cayman Interseries race win.It definitely was a team effort, Estep said. Between all of us, we have done enough races now that we kind of know where we need to be. We played with some stuff, we played with the setup and I am still learning. Last year was just my first year and I am so glad now that the Interseries is in PCA. It just makes it so much more competitive and there are more cars coming out to races.Sundays enduro, and the majority of the weekends racing schedule, was run in cold and rainy conditions. Finding the right setup for the wet and ever-changing weather proved to be the key to victory for Estep and Argetsinger. We compromised on the setup, Argetsinger said. We left the bars connected but we went full soft. The track never came in fully, particularly at Turn 5, it had a lot of Georgia red clay, it was muddy on the verges there, but it was fun. These Caymans are so great. They are just so much fun to drive, just beautifully balanced, and Musante Motorsports, as always, turned out great cars.Estep and Argetsinger shared the enduro podium with the weekends other race winners. Their Musante Motorsports teammate Bryn Owen, who won Saturdays first sprint race, finished second in the enduro after a solo run in his No. 73 prototype black Cayman S. Third place went to Bob Schneider in his white No. 40 Cayman S that carries the Martini Racing livery of the famous Baby Porsche 935. Schneider won Saturdays afternoon sprint. It was very good to meet Bob Schneider, hes a nice guy and we had a lot of fun racing with him out there, Owen said. We swapped spots a few times, it was great racing and I am just happy to be involved in it. The cars are a lot of fun to drive and I really like the Interseries spec. I have driven GT3s, Cup cars, and the Cayman is just a stable and very fun car to drive, especially in these wet conditions. I certainly want to thank the Musante Motorsports team. I had a great car, great support and it was just a top-notch weekend all the way around.Schneider was the only Pirelli Cayman Interseries competitor to hit the podium in each of the weekends three races. In addition to his sprint victory and third-place showing in the enduro, Schneider finished second in the Saturday morning sprint.I like this track, Schneider said. Weather wise, for what it could have been, it turned out so much better. The sprint races were great, the track was in good condition, everybody ran really hard and I think the quality of the competition made everybody really step their game up. I know we turned some personal best record times here for me in the car. I had a great time, the series does an amazing job with it, the competitors were great, the racing was clean, and you cant ask for much more than that.Estep also won the JRZ Suspension Engineering Fine Tuning Award as the competitor that showed the most improvement over the weekend through setup changes. She shook off an early-weekend contact incident to develop a winning setup with Argetsinger and Musante Motorsports. It was really wet, really sketchy out there, and choosing the car setup was really difficult, Estep said. Knowing what sway bars and what worked with the tires and everything was a challenge, but Musante Motorsports is a great team and this is a great series. We brought the car home a winner and we are ready for the next race at Circuit of The Americas.Running exclusively in 2013 on PCA race event weekends, Road Atlanta was the second of eight races on this years Pirelli Cayman Interseries calendar.
