Brands Hatch Formula Ford hat-trick for Cammish and JTR

Dan Cammish makes it three out of three with another pole-to-podium rompLuke Williams gets to the podium at last; Kaminsky claims third

Dan Cammish capped a perfect weekend at Brands Hatch this evening by clinching his third win of the opening weekend of the Dunlop MSA Formula Ford Championship of Great Britain season. As in races one and two, the Leeds-based JTR driver led from pole position to chequered flag in his EcoBoost Mygale.

Dan exits Brands Hatch with a 27-point series lead and a beaming smile. This is about as good as it gets, said Cammish. Its something I may never experience again in my career; Ive topped every practice, led every lap. Its unbelievable really. I thought I had it in me, I was confident, but I didnt really dare hope it would all go that well. The car was fantastic, and all thanks to JTR for that.

Luke Williams put his mechanical woes from round two behind him to slot into second ahead of JTR man Camren Kaminsky on lap three. He closed down Cammishs lead from 4.8 seconds to 2.8 by the chequered flag, and was pleased to make the podium for the first time this weekend.

Got there finally, said the Sowerby-based Jamun driver. In the first race I had tyre issues, in the second my alternator failed, so I was determined to make it in the third. Its been a poor start to my season, and we needed the points. I dont really think I could have caught Dan.

Kaminsky took third, his second podium of the weekend, finishing 2.8s clear of Scholarship class victor Nico Maranzana. Nico was involved in an opening-lap tangle with his Jamun team-mate Scott Malvern from which he was lucky to emerge without lost time. Malvern spun to the back.

Im not entirely sure what happened, said Scott. I think one of my team-mates may have been slightly ambitious on the brakes, so that was the end of my race really. Once that happens, you just hope for a safety car or you turn it into a test session and, seeing as weve been struggling this week, we thought wed test and see what we could do. When things like that happen theres not a lot you can do really.

There were no mistakes this time from Falcon man Lassi Halminen, who secured fifth, with Autosport journo Ben Anderson (Jamun) getting the better of a long duel with George Blundell (Enigma) to take sixth. Malvern battled back from dead last to eighth, posting fastest lap along the way.

Harrison Scott capped an impressive debut weekend for Falcon with another top-10 finish, this time ninth, ahead of his team-mate Neil Winn, the Sinter of James Abbott and the Richardson Racing Mygale of Andy Richardson.

Winn was philosophical about his weekend: The car was much better in that race but we still have work to do on simple things like seat fitting. I think we should have it sorted for the next round. Im not sure weve fully cured our tyre issues. I think as we go into the season and temperatures rise then people will have fewer problems. Weve certainly got into a better position with tyre management.
