WOLVERHAMPTON completed an Easter double over Belle Vue with an emphatic 59-33 win at Monmore Green.Tai Woffinden continued his brilliant start to the season with a 13-point haul for the home side and he was only denied a maximum when beaten by visiting No.1 Matej Zagar in Heat 15, whilst Freddie Lindgren also only missed out to the Slovenian. The result gave Wolves six points from a possible seven at the start of the season, having won the reverse fixture 47-43 in Manchester on Good Friday.Wolves boss Peter Adams said: We will probably have tougher tests further down the road this season, but we can do no more than win our opening two matches. I'm very pleased with our start to the new season.

EASTBOURNE co-promoter Trevor Geer insists there is more to come from the Eagles as they prepare to host in-form Wolverhampton on Saturday. The Eagles collected three points from their Good Friday fixtures against Lakeside with Bjarne Pedersen and Adam Shields both making successful returns to Arlington.Geer said: I was delighted with the victory at home over Lakeside on Good Friday but a bit disappointed we didnt get anything from the earlier away match. We did well at their track but the luck just wasnt with us and points slipped away. You can look at the scores from those two meetings and clearly see that one or two in the team can do much better. We know it and they know it and this week the task is to get all the team up to full speed.

LEICESTER have re-called club asset Magnus Karlsson to deputise for the injured Adam Roynon.Karlsson was left out of the Lions team plans over the winter but has agreed to return whilst Roynon recovers from severe concussion sustained when racing for his Elite League club Coventry at the weekend.Leicester promoter David Hemsley said: How long Adam will be out for is difficult to predict, and therefore we were faced with a dilemma of continuing with the rider-replacement facility or looking to bring someone new into the team. The answer had to be the latter and so the search began for someone who would slip into the side and at least give us the scoring power that we will miss by not having Adam around, and that led me to consider approaching Magnus Karlsson who is still on our books.

RYE House have received an encouraging injury update on skipper Jason Bunyan, who is targeting a rapid return to action.Bunyans broken ribs are not as severe as first feared, although he must also wait for vertebrae damage to heal. Simon Lambert, meanwhile, is expected to be out for six to eight weeks with a broken ankle.Rockets boss John Sampford said: Jason is already sitting up in bed, which is something in itself. The doctors want to get him active as soon as possible to help the blood flow and aid the healing process. The initial indications were that he could easily miss half the season, but Jason himself is determined to be back in action sooner rather than later, maybe as early as a months time, which would be remarkable.

SCUNTHORPE face three meetings in three days this week which will determine their chances of success in the League Cup.The Scorpions picked up two points out of three at home to Leicester on Good Friday, and now face home and away clashes with Sheffield, starting at Owlerton on Thursday, before travelling to Leicester on Saturday.Manager Richard Hollingsworth said: We will approach one meeting at a time. Were more than capable of winning all three meetings; weve won at both Sheffield and Leicester in the last couple of years.Ideally, to put ourselves in a strong position to qualify for the semi-finals, we need to beat Sheffield at home on Friday, and win at least one of the two away matches.
