It was another busy weekend for the MJW Kick Kawasaki team this weekend; some of the riders were competing in the British Maxxis Motocross Championship at Lyng in Norfolk. Once again youngster Rob Davidson secured a stunning overall podium in the MXY2 class and he is now sitting comfortably in third position in the overall Championship standings.

Rob - "Lyng was a tough weekend for me, I was feeling strong leading up to the race weekend and wanting to get another strong result. I was struggling during qualifying to get a good set up on the bike and ended up getting really bad arm pump which reoccurred in every race.

I managed to get fifth in qualifying and despite having problems holding on I managed to get fifth in the first race. Paul Keates and myself made some changes to the set-up of the bike between races on the suspension, these adjustments really helped for race two. I got a shocking start and had to work hard to work my way up to third and got third overall.

It wasn't the best of days but I still managed third overall so I was pretty happy and got some good Championship points. I will be getting ready for the next race and working on everything to make sure I keep the MJW Kick Kawasaki at the sharp end of the field, a big thanks must go to everyone for helping me out."

Macauley Madden gained some points in race one of the MXY2 race gaining a 15th in race one and he suffered a few crashes in race two and finished in 23rd.

Macauley - "I managed to qualify in 19th for the races but I hit the gate in race one so had a lot of work to do but managed to get back up to 15th and get some points. I was setting some really good lap times and was only a few seconds off the front runners pace so that pleases me knowing that I have a good race pace and it is a long season and I can work my way forward.

I was running well again in the second race and up amongst the top 15 but I crashed twice and couldn't settle back into a rhythm and had to settle for 23rd. I had two finishes though and each weekend I'm learning loads of new things, thanks to everyone involved in the MJW Kick Kawasaki Team."

Will Keogh scored 26th in race one and broke into the points in race two and got 19th.

Will - "The track at Lyng was in prime condition so I knew that all the riders were going to be fast. I found qualifying and the first moto really difficult as I couldn't quite get to grips with the track and the speed of the other riders.

I settled in a little more in race two and I was beginning to learn the track better and knew what I needed to do and where, I was able to run a much stronger pace and find a good rhythm. However I got taken out whilst I was sitting in a comfortable points scoring position and it put me way back outside the top 20. Thanks to our awesome Dunlop tyres I was able to get some good laps in and work myself back into the top 20 and scoring a couple of valuable Championship points."

In the MX2 class Luke Remmer gained some more solid Championship points and is riding the MJW Kick Kawasaki well in a very fierce class this season. He gained a 15th, 12th and he gained a puncture which saw him fall to 30th place.

Luke - "My first lap of timed qualifying proved to be my quickest as the track soon became rough and quick times were hard to gain, I gained 15th place.

In race one I gated really well and was up to 12th place, I made a few small mistakes mid race and I dropped back and finished in 15th.

I didn't get the best start in the second race and was down in about 20th in the early stages, my bike felt loads better and much stronger in race two and I battled my way through the pack and was pleased to gain a solid 12th position.

In the final race I choose a change of rear tyre to a sand tyre to suit the conditions but unfortunately mid race I suffered a puncture so that was the end of that. I was a little disappointed with my results this weekend but I know the MX2 class is one of the most competitive classes in the UK. My starts let me down and there are a few things I need to work on and master before I race again, as I know the results can come if I can put it all together. I'm really grateful to all the MJW Team for all their help and support."

James Lassu was third reserve at the British Maxxis and he decided it was important that he needed race and track time and took the decision to enter the GT Cup at Fat Cats instead of potentially not racing a Lyng.

He had a great weekend and had four podiums, two race wins, a second and a third and took the overall win.

James - "I had a good weekend at the GT Cup and it was a good confidence boost, I got some good results and the MJW Kick Kawasaki worked perfectly all weekend and helped me take the overall win. The bike felt brilliant and it's really giving me a good outlook for the first Red Bull Championship, I enjoyed the weekend and really happy with everything."

Assistant Manager Paul Keates - "Lyng is a very demanding track and it was a real tester for the riders at the weekend, they all got to grips with the track and got some point scoring results which is great for the MJW Kick Kawasaki team. Rob rode really well again to get another podium and Will, Macualey and Luke are all riding well and improving each time they go out on the bike, it's a long season but we're really pleased with the way things are going."

Team Owner Mark Woodage said - "Unfortunately I was unable to attend this weekend having British Supersbike commitments to attend to. Paul Keates did a great job with the team helping us get another podium and working well with Luke in gaining momentum and speed. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Paul and Alan Keates, Steve Parkin, Mike Foster and all the MJW Kick Kawasaki staff and personnel involved in making it happen this year. It shows with their commitment our team is growing from strength to strength."
