KINGS Lynn withstood a strong challenge from Coventry to emerge from their Norfolk Arena clash with maximum points and move second in the Elite League table. The Stars trailed 29-31 after Heat 10 but finished strongly and No.1 Niels-Kristian Iversen took a fine win in Heat 15 to secure a 49-41 resultleaving Bees promoter Mick Horton to rue a missed opportunity.Horton said: It was a much-improved performance, and the boys tried very hard. But obviously the collapse in the races following the interval was disappointing. The meeting was there and we should at least have come away with a point, which was what we deserved, but once again were so near and yet so far, so in the end its a very frustrating and disappointing evening.(SPEEDWAY 4)
