Shere Hill Climb - 8th September 2013

The inaugural Shere Hill Climb will take place on Sunday 8th September this year and is now seeking entrants.The event takes place up Staple Lane, in the Surrey Hills near Guildford. The lane is a public road which, will be closed to all other traffic for the day. The course will run from close to the junction of Staple Lane and the A246 to the summit of the hill. The paddock will be located at the base of the hill.The course ascends by 300 feet over a distance of nearly a mile with a series of challenging corners along the route. There are panoramic views across the Surrey countryside, London and the Wembley Arch can be seen in the distance.Entries are limited to a maximum of 120 cars, with each entrant completing three runs each.They are now looking for a wide range of interesting cars, old, new modified and exotic. The car and driver must be road legal (ie. be taxed, insured, MOTd and the driver have a valid licence). A competition licence is not required and the car does not need to be prepared for competitionThe cost of an entry is only 50 per car. All drivers are required to attend the drivers briefing and to hold a valid licence. Spectator entry will be 15 per car if bought in advance or 20 on the day. Entry to the car park will only be from the A246 end of Staple Lane.The hill climb is raising funds for Shere Infants School (FOSSA) and the GASP Motor Project which promotes responsible car ownership amongst the young.
