HHC Motorsport domination continues in Ginetta Junior Championship
HHC Motorsport continued its fabulous start to the Ginetta Junior Championship as Harry Woodhead won both races to maintain his 100% win rate in the championship. HHC Motorsports Will Palmer qualified on pole position for the opening race with team-mate Woodhead alongside, while James Kellett qualified sixth for his first race at the ultra-fast Hampshire circuit. Woodhead led off the line as Kellett suffered a poor start and bogged down, but poor Wills race came undone at the chicane on the opening lap as he braked a little late and spun down to 13th place. His recovery to third at the chequered flag was the highlight of the race and showed excellent racecraft as he worked his way back up the order. James, too, showed his class, undaunted by his lack of knowledge from Thruxton. Having slipped to 11th on the opening lap, James battled his way to fifth, and to top rookie, at the end of the nine-lap race displaying his confidence in his maiden Thruxton outing. Harry backed up his fifth win with fastest lap and started race two from pole position. He was out-dragged, though, by Will who led the opening lap as Harry slipped back to third. Soon on the move, he was second on lap two and nipped past Will for the lead at Church. Will fought back and approaching the Complex, they were side by side. Light contact was made and Will ended up overshooting the first right-hander, leaving Harry to take a narrow win, while Will recovered for fifth place and James again underlined his potential by taking sixth. HHC Motorsports Charlie Kemp said: A fabulous season for us keeps getting better. It is great that Harry is winning for HHC but equally pleasing is that Will is now fighting for wins so we have even greater strength at the front of the grid. I am sure both of them have learnt from the second race and now understand how to race with, and against, each other so we shouldnt have any dramas at Oulton Park. James again was mighty impressive. To go to such a fast circuit and race there for the first time and to come away with two top six results is excellent. He keeps getting better and his potential is there for all to see.The next rounds of the Ginetta Junior Championship are at Oulton Park on June 8/9.
