IN-FORM Swindon star Edward Kennett is looking to make up for recent British Final disappointments when he competes in the national championship at Wolverhampton on Monday.Kennett, who is enjoying a fine first season at Blunsdon, is a former runner-up in the showpiece event but has crashed out of the Final in the last two years. He said: It's going to be a tough meeting because obviously everyone wants to win the British Final, but I'll be going there with a strong head like I normally do and I'll just see how I get on.I'm on pretty good form so I'd like to think I stand a good chance, but it's a long meeting and anything can happen. We've just got to focus to try to get in that Final. Once you get there anything can happen and that's when it really matters.(SPEEDWAY 2)
COVENTRY recovered from an early eight-point deficit to make it back-to-back home wins with a 52-38 victory over Eastbourne at Brandon. The three points gained by the Bees moved them up two places in the Elite League table as they continue to rebuild following a disastrous start to the season.Captain Scott Nicholls said: It was tough, I had a dreadful start and it certainly didnt go according to plan, but full credit to Eastbourne because they started off on fire. But we pulled it back when we needed to, and we came away with a convincing win which is great. I think had that happened a week ago, our heads might have still been on the floor, but a lot of it bounces on from the meeting on Monday against Lakeside. I think that instilled a bit of confidence in everybody.
