Brands Hatch will be graced by a World Champion, a rock star and the sound of V12 engines next weekend (May 25th – 27th) at the Masters Historic Festival.

Reigning World Touring Car Champion Rob Huff will race against AC/DC front-man Brian Johnson in the Masters Pre-66 Touring Car race, both in Mini Coopers, while fans will be treated to demonstrations of V12 power over the weekend as well.

Huff, no stranger to historic racing after his exploits at Goodwood and in MGCC races, will share Desmond Smail’s Cooper S in the two race over the weekend on the Indy circuit and also the iconic Grand Prix circuit.

“I’m really looking forward to it,” said Rob. “It will be nice to be back at Brands where I used to race in the WTCC and it will be a real contrast from a modern touring car to step back in time to race a car built before I was born!”

Racing enthusiast Brian Johnson will share Masters boss Ron Maydon’s Cooper S and make the most of his weekend away from music by sharing Rick Carlino’s GRD 72S in the FIA Masters Historic Sports Car Championship as well.

“It will be the first time I’ve raced at Brands Hatch, but I am really excited by it. Driving a Mini around Brands will be great fun, I’m sure, and so different from the Grand-Am racing I’ve done back home in America. I can’t wait.”BMW factory GT racer Yelmer Buurman will also be at Brands as he shares an AC Cobra with Dutch girl Shirley van der Lof in the Gentlemen Drivers Pre-66 GT cars race.

The V12 Power demonstrations will include a BRM P126, P201, a Lotus-Lamborghini and a Ferrari 312 and will provide a fabulous sound – and sight – for fans.
