WOLVERHAMPTON are anxiously awaiting news of the full extent of skipper Freddie Lindgrens injury sustained in Saturdays Danish Grand Prix.Lindgren crashed out in his fifth ride and was unable to take his place in the semi-finals as he suffered a broken arm. Meanwhile Lindgrens Wolves team-mate Tai Woffinden kept himself firmly in contention for a World Championship medal by notching a further eleven points in a meeting won by the returning Darcy Ward.Woffinden said: Im disappointed not to make the Final but Im also pleased at the same time to score what I did. Obviously my best wishes go to Freddie, hes been unlucky this year and hopefully he will be back with us at Wolves sooner rather than later.(SPEEDWAY 2)
IPSWICH put an end to the only remaining 100 per cent home record in the Premier League with an impressive 47-43 win at leaders Workington on Saturday. The Witches had lost out to the Comets in the Knockout Cup earlier in the season, going down 29-61 at Derwent Park, but it was a different story on this occasion.Ben Barker led the way for the Foxhall side with eleven points despite a fall in his second outing, and a last-race 4-2 with Rohan Tungate confirmed the away win.Ipswich boss Pete Simmons said: A great team effort to get that win! Each and every one did their bit, and that result could make a few people sit up and take notice.

FOUR-MAN Somerset still collected a remarkable away point at Rye House thanks to a Heat 15 5-1 from Jason Doyle and Nick Morris.Already using rider-replacement for Alex Davies after his Friday crash, the Rebels lost both reserves in an horrific Heat 2 pile-up which saw Tom Perry and Lewis Rose taken to hospital. Perry has escaped with bruising and tissue damage to his shoulder, but Rose suffered a possible fractured hip.The Rockets 50-44 win was their first of the campaign in the Premier League, with top-scorer Anders Mellgren (11) now confirmed as a Rockets asset.Somerset boss Garry May said: Despite going down to just four riders and having to ride something like half the meeting with just one rider out for us, I knew my boys were really determined and that we had the heat-leader trio that could not only hang on in there for us, but possibly give us the chance of getting something from the meeting.
