Luke Mossey races to second on return from injury

After missing the majority of the season with a serious finger injury Luke Mossey made a great return to the Motorpoint British Supersport Championship on the Teccare Profile Triumph this weekend at Snetterton with a stunning second place in race one and a solid fifth in race two.

Luke crashed heavily in the practice session at the opening round at Brands Hatch causing serious tissue damage to his ring finger on his left hand. He made his return at Knockhill circuit two weeks ago and gained a ninth and eighth place.

Snetterton circuit is the local round for the Royston based youngster and he was eager to have a good weekend, working hard throughout on the Teccare Triumph he was able to qualify in seventh place for the opening ten lap race. He got a great start and was able to stick with the leaders, closing in on Ben Wilson in the final laps he was able to make a solid pass and take a fantastic podium.

For race two he was keen to gain another solid result, another good start saw him away well with the leaders and once they settled down into positions he settled in nicely to fifth place. His lap times were quick and consistent and he was able to hoist himself to 13th in the overall Championship standings after only two races.

Luke Mossey - "The last year has been a bad one for me, I broke my ankle at Silverstone last Septemeber then did my finger at Brands so realistically I have barely ridden a bike for 10 months. Knockhill I was a little rusty and was just getting a feel for the bike and where I wanted to be.

I felt really happy coming to Snetterton, not only is it my local round but it's a circuit I really like racing at. I was keen to do well and was eager to just get two top five finishes this weekend so to get a podium I was over the moon with and it came a little bit as a surprise.

I've been working hard to lose weight, train and get myself really fit for when I came back. It's been a bad 10 months really and I'm really keen to finish the rest of this season on a high. The podium in the first race was brilliant I was so happy and it gave me the massive confidence booster that I needed, it made me realise that I can still do it.

I knew the second race would be tough; it was a test of my fitness with the heat and also bike fitness having not ridden for so long. I was tired for sure but felt good and I'm just so pleased to be back and getting decent results.

I really like the Brands GP circuit to ride but I've not had much luck there in the last three years so I hope I can change that this time round. I'd like to thank everyone at the Teccare Profile Triumph team and hope we can continue this form until the end of the season."
