Albatec Racing Team Principal Andy Scott will be unable to take part in the fifth round of the British Rallycross Championship at Maasmechelen this weekend after suffering a double fracture of the left collarbone in testing at Loheac yesterday. During testing for round seven of the FIA European Rallycross Championship next month, Scott went off the track and hit the barrier, sustaining the injury and causing damage to the teams two-litre, 16v Peugeot 208.
The team announced its intention to race in Belgium during the eight-week gap in the RallycrossRX schedule but Scotts injury rules him out of any track action this weekend. A check-up by the doctor, followed by x-ray examination at the local hospital confirmed the injury, however the Dumfries Scotsman is expected to be fully race fit in time to continue his RallycrossRX bid in France.
The accident followed two days running at the French track when the team successfully completed several runs of the circuit, with Scott continuing the extensive development programme working with the teams technical partners Oreca, Soben and Sadev.
