(SPEEDWAY 1)LAKESIDE have rewarded Australian youngster Tyson Nelson for an impressive recent guest appearance with a full team place for the Hammers.Nelson, who rides for Rye House in the Premier League, replaces Kevin Doolan for the Purfleet club and will make his debut against Kings Lynn on Friday.Co-promoter Jon Cook said: We feel we have reached the stage of the year where to reach the play-offs we need a wildcard, and Tyson is it. He's in tremendous form of late and absolutely lit up the Raceway when he appeared for us as a guest in the match against Wolverhampton last month and I know the fans will be very excited about his addition to the team. I would like to thank Len Silver from Rye House for agreeing to the move and also thank Kev for his efforts and his understanding of the situation.

POOLE boss Neil Middleditch says there will be no under-estimating of Belle Vue from his side as the Pirates look to keep their play-off hopes alive at Wimborne Road on Wednesday.Middleditch said: We have quite a good record against Belle Vue in recent times but that will count for nothing. Last time they were here they didn't have 'Zorro' (Magnus Zetterstrom) and we are only too aware that he can be a potent points scorer, especially round our place, and with Matej Zagar they have a solid top two.Elsewhere in Elite League action, Birmingham will take over at the top of the table if they take all three points against Eastbourne at Perry Barr. And East Anglian rivals Kings Lynn and Peterborough clash at the Norfolk Arena, with Kozza Smith guesting for the home side in place of the injured Nicklas Porsing, whilst Mikkel Bech is drafted in for the Panthers with Ryan Fisher (ankle) on the sidelines.

NORTH-EAST rivals Redcar and Newcastle face a potentially pivotal Premier League clash on Thursday with just three points separating the sides. The Bears are second in the table, three points behind leaders Workington, but the fifth-placed Diamonds have two matches in hand and collected an impressive win at Edinburgh in their previous away outing.Redcar boss Jitendra Duffill said: You don't need to sell this fixture to both sets of fans. A close match is in store, and we hope to be at full strength with the anticipated return of Matej Kus to our ranks. Both sides are in the top six in the table and will want to gain the points to stay there and qualify for the play-offs.(FIXTURES)
