COVENTRY reserve Aaron Summers piled up 16 (paid 17) at Brandon as his side stalled King’s Lynn’s play-off challenge with a 48-46 win.The Stars, for whom Mads Korneliussen scored a maximum, fought back from 13-points down with four heats to go to take a point from the meeting, but home duo Scott Nicholls and Grzegorz Zengota shared the spoils in Heat 15 to leave the visitors just short of a dramatic victory.Coventry boss Gary Havelock said: “Heat 15 was a real toss-up with what to do with the choice of gates and Scott wasn’t making the best of starts. Zengi decided he wanted to go off four, so Scott’s main job was to try to stop Rory (Schlein) off one, and he managed to do it.“The reserves were excellent, and Kyle (Howarth) got us a lot of points early on. He won Heat 1 and to get a 5-1 in that race and follow it up with another one in Heat 2 – I can’t remember us doing that all season!”

BELLE Vue star Ales Dryml is set to return to action for the club’s final home match of the season against play-off chasing Poole on Monday.Dryml has been out for a month after breaking his collarbone in a crash in the European Championships, whilst the Aces have booked Lasse Bjerre to cover for injured reserve Kauko Nieminen. But they will go into the meeting without captain Craig Cook, whose Premier League fixture for Edinburgh at Workington on the same night takes priority.Cook said: “I'm bitterly disappointed to be missing our last home match. There's not a lot of meetings left this season and I want to try and do as many as possible, but missing our last meeting at home is extremely frustrating for me.”

SWINDON boss Alun Rossiter has called on the club’s supporters to get behind his title-chasing team, who round off their regular Elite League programme against Lakeside on Monday. The Robins are already safely in the play-off places whilst the Hammers will be attempting to hold their top four spot, and £10 admission is available from vouchers to be printed in the Swindon Advertiser on the day with the club having attracted additional backing from sponsors Excalibur and Pebley Beach to secure their long-term future.Rossiter said: “This is now the opportunity for everyone to get right behind them and show their support for the Robins. The discounted admission is a marvellous gesture and I hope supporters take advantage of it in big numbers.“We are definitely running on Monday and I can assure everyone that we want to win this meeting. We want to build momentum going into the play-offs and we certainly don’t fear anyone once we get there.”(SPEEDWAY 4)
SOMERSET duo Jason Doyle and Josh Grajczonek both scored maximums as the Rebels raced to a 57-34 win over Berwick in the Premier League. There was also an inspired home debut from Charles Wright, who scored paid-13 for his new club as they closed to within one point of league leaders Ipswich.Rebels boss Garry May said: “Doyley and Josh were in great form, as was Alex (Davies), who I am sure would have joined them in getting a maximum but for a poor start in his second ride“But for once even they were somewhat eclipsed by Wrighty's performance in what was his home debut. He put in some excellent rides which saw him involved in no less than three of our five maximum heat wins to keep us in contention at the top of the Premier League.”(SPEEDWAY 5)
