2014 New Zealand FIM Speedway GP tickets on sale now

Tickets are now on sale for the 2014 New Zealand FIM Speedway Grand Prix at Auckland’s picturesque Western Springs stadium on April 5.

The sport’s biggest names, including the likes of World Championship leader Tai Woffinden of Great Britain, Russian racer Emil Sayfutdinov and 2012 Auckland winner Jaroslaw Hampel of Poland, return to the land of the long white cloud for what will be the opening round of the 2014 FIM Speedway Grand Prix series.

This year’s event starts at the later time of 6pm and the first 500 fans to purchase grandstand seats on the start/finish straight will be handed pit viewing area passes, subject to terms and conditions*.

Grandstand tickets cost $120 NZ, while general admission is $60 NZ for adults and $30 NZ for children.

Paul Bellamy, managing director of BSI Speedway, the rights holder of the SGP series, can’t wait to bring the SGP series back to New Zealand for a third successive season and is certain the thousands of fans who flock to Auckland from all over the world will be treated to some sensational speedway.

He said: “It’s a great pleasure to take the world’s top riders out of Europe and bring them to Auckland once again to kick off the 2014 SGP series.

“The city has really embraced this event and it’s a fantastic opportunity for fans in the Southern Hemisphere to enjoy speedway’s biggest names live and up close, instead of spending thousands of dollars to watch the action in Europe.

“Speedway fans in Australia flock across the Tasman Sea to cheer on the world’s best. And with tickets going on sale earlier this season, we hope they can start planning their trips now.

“Once again, we couldn’t do all this without Bill Buckley and his team from Springs Promotions. Taking the SGP stars to the other side of the world remains a feat in itself, but it’s well worth the effort and we can’t wait to be back in Auckland next year.”

Tickets can be purchased online from Ticketmaster at www.ticketmaster.co.nz www.speedwaygp.com or call 0800 111 999 (NZ fans) or +64 99 70 9700 (international fans).
