SWINDON are offering discounted admission for their Monday clash with Lakeside which will determine the final play-off qualifiers.£10 admission is available to supporters with a re-admission ticket from Thursday’s abandonment, with the Robins still having a chance of finishing top of the Elite League whilst the Hammers need a big win to overhaul Poole for fourth place.Swindon boss Alun Rossiter said: “As a goodwill gesture to supporters we are offering this reduced admission to everyone who brings a readmission ticket. I keep getting told speedway should be a £10 sport – well on Monday night it is!“I hope all our supporters come along, Lakeside need to win to beat Poole to the play-offs and we want to win to go into the play-offs with plenty of confidence when we ride the following week.”

KING’S Lynn took an early decision to postpone Sunday afternoon’s re-arranged match with Birmingham due to bad weather – and it will now take place on Wednesday.A poor weather forecast on top of earlier rain caused the Stars to rule out running the meeting this weekend, and they will now revert to their regular race-night.It means the clash between the sides at Perry Barr on Monday will have a major bearing on deciding top spot in the Elite League table, with the Brummies needing to avoid defeat for the point they need – which would also guarantee choice of opponents and order of legs in the play-offs.

RYE House promoter Len Silver is expecting a fierce battle for the National League Riders’ Championship at Hoddesdon next Saturday – in the 20th staging of the event at this level. The top riders from the sport’s third tier are all included for a meeting previously won by several riders who have moved into the top flight, including current World Championship leader Tai Woffinden, who triumphed in 2007.Silver said: “We are very proud to once again stage the Championship at Rye House. It is always a night of great excitement and unpredictability, with twists and turns thrown in.“I wouldn’t want to pick a winner for Saturday, as so many riders in this field are capable of winning it. Quite frankly, anything can happen on the night.”

SCUNTHORPE have quickly re-scheduled their Retro Cup clash with Sheffield due to a poor weather forecast for Sunday afternoon at the Eddie Wright Raceway. The meeting will now take place in a fortnight’s time (September 29) as the second leg, three days after the sides meet in Yorkshire, with the decision taken early on Saturday evening.Scunthorpe promoter Rob Godfrey said: “We’d have never got the meeting on. Not only that, but it’s just not safe for people to travel in those sorts of conditions. This saves everyone a wasted journey.“We spoke to Sheffield, and we quickly agreed a new date. It’s exactly two weeks on – same day, same time, just two weeks later. Hopefully the weather will be kinder to us that weekend.”
