RYE House star Olly Allen took victory in Sunday’s showpiece Premier League Riders’ Championship at Sheffield.Allen pulled off a stunning outside move on the second bend in the Final and was rewarded with the win over Magnus Karlsson, Jason Doyle and defending Champion Craig Cook.Allen said: “I’m over the moon, I’m so happy. I wanted gate three in the final but I knew that’d be taken, so I wanted four and I knew what I had to do.“It’s a great feeling, I’m delighted for Rye House and for all the fans who supported me today, so thanks to them.”(SPEEDWAY 2)

WOLVERHAMPTON have booked Scandinavian Grand Prix winner Niels-Kristian Iversen to guest for the injured Tai Woffinden in the first leg of their play-off semi-final against Birmingham.Iversen, who rode for the Monmore club in 2008, comes in for Monday’s clash as Woffinden is sidelined with a broken collarbone, whilst another ex-Wolves man Nicolai Klindt stands in for Jacob Thorssell.Wolves boss Peter Adams said: “We owe a massive debt of gratitude to Niels because he is pushing the boat out to ride for us. It's a big blow to be without Tai, of course it is, but in my view we have booked one of the best riders in the world right now.“Obviously we need a lead to take to Perry Barr and it's going to take a big team effort, but we are well and truly up for the challenge.”Birmingham, meanwhile, will be without Josh Auty due to a suspected broken wrist, and will include Monmore specialist Andrew Tully as his guest replacement at reserve.

SWINDON boss Alun Rossiter says a double-figure lead from tonight’s Elite League semi-final with Poole would be ‘ideal’.The two sides meet at the Abbey Stadium in a first-leg tie which is a repeat of last year’s Final, and the Robins have booked Lewis Kerr to guest at reserve in place of back injury victim Ashley Birks.Rossiter said: “We know our riders can get around Poole but obviously we have to be looking for a lead to take down there, and double-figures would be ideal tonight. We won last year with only taking seven, but realistically ten-plus would be good, and we’re more than capable of doing that.”Meanwhile Pirates boss Neil Middleditch says his side need to put the trials and tribulations of the season behind them as they look to regain the title. He said: “Seven weeks ago our season had all but been written off by the pundits but never throughout the turmoil of an injury-ravaged season did we ever stop believing and we are certainly not going to do so now. We now have to forget the last six months and concentrate on the next 30 heats.”(SPEEDWAY 4)

MILDENHALL established a ten-point lead over the Isle of Wight in a fascinating National League KO Cup semi-final tie at West Row.The Islanders led the first leg by six points after eight heats and the Fen Tigers saw Jon Armstrong withdrawn with a back injury, but the hosts finished strongly and recent recruit Danny Phillips was involved in several heat advantages in their eventual 50-40 win.Mildenhall chairman Kevin Jolly said: “We threw too many points away today and seemed to be trying hard to lose the meeting. A couple of riders need to have a good look at themselves, they need to show pride riding in our club’s colours - the fans deserve this from everyone, every meeting!“Losing Jon was a big blow and we fear it is doubtful that we will see Armo riding again this season, we will keep our fingers crossed until we hear more.”(SPEEDWAY 5)

DUDLEY youngster Nathan Greaves retained his 500cc British Youth Championship by winning the final round at Iwade on Sunday.Greaves, who finished ahead of Daniel Spiller and Connor Mountain on the day, ended the series six points clear of Reece Downes, with Mountain a point ahead of Kelsey Dugard in third.Zach Wajtknecht was already assured of victory in the 250cc class and Callum Walker’s win on the day made sure of second place overall.Walker defeated Ethan Spiller and Luke Woodhull for his victory, with Woodhull confirmed in third spot in the final standings – whilst Jordan Jenkins took the win in the final round of the 125cc support class.
