The Auto GP is set for a sensational and intense finale. Four top racers are lining-up to fight for the overall drivers' title in the eight and last round of the 2013 season at Brno, in Czech Republic. The first name on the list is Vittorio Ghirelli, driving for Super Nova International, who scored 191 points so far and already cruised to take the Under 21 honours with one round to spare. Japanese Kimiya Sato, driving for Euronova Racing, is trailing him by 11 points after having led for most part of the season. Eventually, he was forced to let the Italian go at Donington Park. The third driver in-line is Sergio Campana, who won the opening race of the year at Monza for Ibiza Racing Team before doing it all again at Marrakech and Mugello. Lining-up in fourth, Narain Karthikeyan (Super Nova International) experienced a spectacular late run. The Indian is paying the price of a tough season start but he's still in contention and eager to prove his point as soon as possible.
The championship's title won't be the only focus at Brno as some new faces will return on-track. Michela Cerruti, who was forced to miss Donington due to a same-date commitment, will be back to the MLR71 team, partnering Michele La Rosa. Also, Zele Racing will return to the championship in-style. The Austrian-based squad will rejoin with Hungarian Tamas Pal Kiss, who had cruised to his maiden podium at Silverstone. He will drive alongside Josef Kral, a local driver making his debut in the series at home. One more return will be at Ibiza Racing Team, with Francesco Dracone making his comeback to partner regular Sergio Campana.
The two practice sessions for the Czech event will be starting on Friday, 4th of October at 10:05 and 13:20, followed at 16:20 by qualifying. The series' two traditional races will be televised live by Eurosport. The Saturday's one is scheduled for 12:15, while Race 2 will be taking place on Sunday at 14:50. The Auto GP organization also scheduled a year-end party on Sunday evening, with the prize-giving ceremony at the renowned Mandarin Club, known for hosting the Moto GP party during the Czech GP.
