from 2013 World Rally Champion Sebastien Ogier- Sebastien Ogier shares knowledge with Skeleton Champion to help in her quest to compete in Wales Rally GBOlympic gold medallist Amy Williams met with Sebastien Ogier - the newly crowned 2013 FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) title holder - at Castle Combe’s annual Rally Day (21 September). Ogier was on hand to lend some expert advice to novice co-driver Williams, as the 2010 Winter Olympic Skeleton Champion trains to compete at WRC level.Williams is now halfway through her rally challenge, which involves completing four national rallies in order to qualify as an international co-driver in time for the final WRC round of the season, Wales Rally GB, on 14-17 November. Williams is co-driving for Sky Sports News’ F1 analyst Tony Jardine and so far the duo has proved to be a successful pairing having finished first in class both on the Merrick Stages and at Rally Yorkshire.Volkswagen driver Ogier advised Williams: “It is important to remain comfortable in the car, keep a calm head and be clear in what you are saying to the driver. Rallies are challenging and fast paced, remaining calm and comfortable is key to having a successful rally.”Williams said of her meeting with Ogier: “It was a fantastic experience to meet such a prominent figure in the rally world; he gave me excellent advice, which I will definitely be using in my next rallies. I feel more confident having now completed two national events but I’m still very nervous for Wales Rally GB as I will be competing against the best in the world and I want to give it my all.”Frenchman Sebastien Ogier clinched the 2013 World Rally Championship drivers' title on the first day of Rallye de France-Alsace (Thursday 03 October), on the opening stage. It is Ogier's maiden WRC title, and he succeeds compatriot Sebastien Loeb, who has been the reigning WRC champion for the past nine years.Amy Williams is also on track to excel in her rally quest, with just two more national rallies to go until she achieves international navigator licence status, with Wales Rally GB drawing ever closer. Williams’ driving partner, Jardine, said: “I’m sure Sebastien’s advice will help Amy, a World Rally Champion of this calibre sharing his knowledge has given us both a great boost and we are looking forward to putting his tips into action.”The next rally for Jardine and Williams, with the ProSpeed team, is the Colin McRae Forest Stages in Scotland, which takes place on 05 October.
