Strong Weekend for the Be Wiser Kawasaki Superstock Team

Round 11 of the Pirelli National Superstock Championship took place this weekend at Silverstone. The Be Wiser Kawasaki team had a strong weekend, Josh Wainwright put in the strongest race of the weekend for the team in the Stock 1000 class and after qualifying on his first pole position in the class he secured a solid fourth place just missing out on the podium. Josh Day rode well in the Stock 1000 class and gained 16th place, Nick Anderson once again had a great ride and finish in a very well fought sixth position.Josh Wainwright was riding well all weekend and he was able to put on a stunning show during qualifying taking the team's first Pole position of the season. He struggled off the start and lost a few places, he was locked in a tight battle with Hudson Kennaugh and Lee Jackson for second place and he was unlucky to miss out on the final lap but gained his best result of the season.Josh Wainwright - "That was some weekend for me, the Be Wiser Kawasaki felt really good during qualifying and I don't want to say the pole position lap came easy as it didn't but the bike just felt great and to put it on pole position was just brilliant. I was a little nervous for the race and didn't quite get the start I'd hoped for but I was able to get away with the front runners and I was pushing all the way for a podium place, I'm in two minds as I'm disappointed not to have been on the podium but also really happy as it's my best result this season. I'm looking forward now to Brands Hatch and finishing the season on a high note."Josh Day struggled to find a race set up to suit him during qualifying and he ended up qualifying in 22nd place and knew he would have his work cut out. He got a good start and worked hard to get back up through the pack he just missed out on a points scoring position and ended the day in 16th place.Josh Day - "I really struggled to get to grips with the track this weekend and I struggled during all the qualifying sessions to try and put a good time in. I managed to get a good start and I was able to make a lot of passes on the opening lap and in the final stages of the race I was putting in some really good lap times. I need to get my qualifying sorted out some how to give me half a chance when it comes to race day. Thanks again to the Be Wiser Kawasaki team for all their support."In the Pirelli National Superstock 600 class Nick Anderson finally got a good qualifying position and ended up in 8th place on the grid. He was involved in a ten bike battle for fourth place, he worked hard and held his own throughout the race making some confident moves and finally ended up finishing the seven lap race in confident sixth place.Nick Anderson - "I'm pretty pleased with the race in itself but just a little disappointed that I wasn't able to get fourth place as I know I was capable of it. I managed to get stuck in during qualifying and was able to better my normal position which is always a great advantage come race day. The first couple of laps in the Stock 600 race are always very messy and you have to get stuck in and dig deep if you are to hold a good position. I was locked in a real scrap and it was a really exciting race and I felt really good and not tired at the end, I worked hard and was really keen to get fourth but it just wasn't to be. It's another solid points place and I'm looking forward to Brands and hopefully finishing the season on a high note."Team Owner/Manager Alan Grieg - "Silverstone was finally a good weekend for us and in the Stock 600 class, Nick was able to have a good run during qualifying but with the 3-3-3 grid this put us on row three. With the race slightly shorter Nick was unlucky not to get fourth as he gets stronger and stronger as the race progresses, this was still a very good and strong result for him, he has come on so much since the start of the season.Josh Wainwright shocked us all with his pole position, we were over the moon with this result and for us he is still on a learning year so we weren't expecting pole and it was a great achievement for him. It is good to see how he's coming strong towards the end of the year now that he understands more how to ride a Stock 1000, it's very encouraging and he was unlucky to miss out on the podium after riding a really solid race and battling for second place.Josh Day struggled during qualifying so we made some drastic changes over night but with only a short warm up session it was difficult to test them out before the race. He made up several places during the race whilst adapting to the new settings and towards the end of the race some of his sectors times were the fastest on the track we hope things will be more positive for him at Brands Hatch."
