WOLVERHAMPTON have confirmed they will open next season with the Banks’s Olympique - after taking an early decision to postpone Tuesday’s event due to the weather. The meeting will now be staged on Monday March 17, 2014 with the main sponsors still on board, and it means World Champion Tai Woffinden will be able to take his place in the line-up.Wolves promoter Chris Van Straaten said: “This is excellent news and whilst the postponement tonight (Tuesday) means our season is over, we can now look forward to a spectacular start to the 2014 season.“I would like to express our appreciation to the good people at Banks’s for remaining on board and hope their guests have a wonderful evening with us next March.”(SPEEDWAY 2)

SOMERSET co-promoter Debbie Hancock believes the Premier League Grand Final against Edinburgh could prove to be another nail-biting encounter – as the Rebels bid to go one step further than in 2012.The Oaktree Arena side lost last year’s Final to Scunthorpe by an agonising one-point aggregate margin, whilst a recent KO Cup semi-final between the Rebels and the Monarchs had to be replayed after a tie.Edinburgh host the first leg of the Grand Final on Friday with the return next Monday, and Hancock said: “This is what we have been battling for all season. Having just missed out on the title last season, it gave us greater resolve to go one better this year and bring that first-ever League Championship trophy to the Oaktree Arena.“We have had some cracking meetings against Edinburgh already this year and there is no reason to believe that both legs of this Championship Final will be any different.”(SPEEDWAY 4)
