Daniil Kvyat is the Formula Renault 2.0 ALPS Champion. 21st October 2013: the young Russian has been confirmed as the new 2014 driver for F1 Renault-powered Toro Rosso, taking Daniel Ricciardo’s place. In just one year - almost a joke of the destiny - for the 19 y/o Red Bull Junior driver, the dream came true.
At the same time, the Fast Lane Promotion Series confirms as Talents Crafter. Daniil Kvyat moine last season with Team Koiranen. His business card was a double win in the opening round of Monza. Then he achieved five more wins: one in Spa, two in Red Bull Ring and Mugello. The epilogue was in Barcelona exactly one year ago. There he managed a third place enough to outcome the two French Norman Nato and Paul-Loup Chatin.
Still in 2012, he also was among the Eurocup F.Renault 2.0 protagonists where he ended second overall. This year it was GP3 Series (where he still has Championship chances) and F3 FIA European Championship time.
Born on the 26th April 1994 in Ufa, Kvyat lives in Rome and speaks a fluent Italian. The Russian already managed a testing Session with Toro Rosso on the afternoon of Friday 19th July in Silverstone, completing 22 laps. Now he will be back as the official driver.
With Kvyat the Fast Lane Promotion tradition keeps rolling. In just more than ten years drivers such as Felipe Massa, Pastor Maldonado, Kamui Kobayashi and Robert Kubica, all joined its Series.
For Kvyat the honour to have started the F.Renault 2.0 ALPS tradition. The Series launched in 2011 will still have its spotlights on young talented drivers starting from the new Champion Antonio Fuoco (the Italian racing for Prema already involved in the Ferrari Driver Academy who succeeded in taking the place of Kvyat in the Series yearbook), going to the Dutch Nyck de Vries (McLaren Young Driver Programme), up to the latest new entry in Imola last 5/6 October Matt Parry (Catheram Racing Academy).
