Sieders Stripped of Championship Points following Gold Coast V8 Ute Race

The Stewards have since denied Sieders Racing’s request to reopen the hearing in relation to the incident involving David Sieders in Race 3 of the 2013 Auto One V8 Ute Racing Series – protected by ARMOR ALL at the ARMOR ALL Gold Coast 600 Sunday, 27th October, on the basis of new evidence and therefore the original findings and imposed penalty of the loss of 35 championship points stand. Sieders Racing still have the right to appeal this finding through the CAMS process. David Sieders is not willing to comment at this point but will be appealing to the stewards’ decision.  Sieders is now equal third with Nathan Pretty on the ENZED Championship leader board, Rhys McNally has moved into 2nd and Ryal Harris remains in the lead.McNally was in the top three until mid-year and is glad to be back in the title fight so close to the end of the season. “It’s not the way you want to win a championship but you take what you can, It’s exciting coming into Sydney, it’s one of my better tracks so I’m feeling confident coming into the round but as we’ve seen this weekend anything can happen but it’s on for sure,” said an elated McNally. Nathan Pretty knows all too well how quickly points can walk away from you after losing his qualifying result and championship lead at the start of the Bathurst weekend. “Yes it’s never a good feeling but you just have to fight on. It was really disappointing to miss the opportunity of extra points in Race 3 but I’m just glad everyone was ok. We’re just going to keep fighting coming into the last round and get as many points as we can,” said Pretty.
