SCUNTHORPE are on the lookout for new team sponsors after long-serving backers Henderson Insurance stepped down. The company have backed the Scorpions since 2007, and during the seven-year association the club have moved into the Premier League and won the title last year.Scunthorpe promoter Rob Godfrey said: “Joe Henderson gave us notice at the beginning of the year that this would be their last year, which is fair enough. We’re extremely grateful to all the support we’ve had from them over such a long period of time.“I think we’ll be able to sell it. We think it’s good value. We’re a progressive team, we want to win things, and in Tai Woffinden, we have the World Champion living right on our doorstep. So we hope we can fill the void that Hendersons are going to leave.”

ISLE Of Wight bosses have confirmed their future in the sport for next season depends on an air-fence being in place at the Smallbrook Stadium.Despite an extensive injury list, the Island club reached the National League play-offs and KO Cup Final this year, having won the early-season National Trophy competition. Now club chiefs are urging shareholders to attend the Islanders’ AGM on November 12 in order to discuss future prospects.Co-manager Chris Hunt said: “I love this club so much and it’s hard to come to terms with the fact that we may not be here next year, but that’ll certainly be the case if the money can’t be found to fund the purchase of an air-fence and have it installed by the start of next season.”
