WORLD Cup winner Maciej Janowski will be back with Poole next season as they attempt to defend the Elite League title.Janowski, who became a club asset of the Pirates last winter, was heavily involved in their late-season charge to glory, and now becomes the fifth name on their 2014 team sheet.Promoter Matt Ford said: “There is no doubt that Magic played a huge part in helping us win the league last season. But both Magic and I believe he has even more to offer the club.“He is an absolute pleasure to work with and at only 22 years of age, I feel he can blossom into a consistent World-class star alongside Darcy Ward next season. With an average of 6.95 he is the sort of rider who ticks all the boxes – I am confident he will improve on that.”

BELLE Vue boss Jason Attwood has vowed to do all he can to end the club’s long wait for play-off qualification – which now stretches back nearly a decade.Attwood will be back with the Aces in 2014 having firmly quashed speculation that he would be on the move, and has stressed his determination to bring back the glory days.Attwood said: “I want to do my best as the manager of Belle Vue. It’s my team, the team I’ve supported since I was a boy and for me it’s an absolute honour to be in charge of what I see as the Manchester United of speedway.“It’s exceptionally frustrating for me to think that Belle Vue haven’t reached the play-offs since 2005; it’s just not acceptable. A club with Belle Vue’s history needs to be back on the map. We need to be in the play-offs and with the riders that we’ve got, I feel sure we’ll be more than a match for any of the other teams. Why not?”

MILDENHALL have completed the double signing of Brendan Johnson and Jack Kingston as they close in on their full 2014 line-up.The Fen Tigers are just one rider away from completing their side after bringing in Kingston from Kent and Johnson, who had spells with Coventry and the Isle of Wight last season.Chairman Kevin Jolly said: “Jack is an exciting prospect who I am sure the supporters will love. His all-action style reminds me a little of Josh (Bates) when he started and look how he has progressed! Jack is very keen to learn and progress in his speedway career and we are sure that we can help him achieve his goals - he certainly has the potential.“Brendan’s career has stalled a little over the last two years, but let’s not forget he was U18 champion in 2010 and has represented his country so the ability is there for sure. Speaking to Brendan his enthusiasm shone through, he clearly wants to ride for us, is professional in his approach and has good equipment. With the support we can offer I think he could be a steal on his average.”
